SLUGs

SLUGs (St. Luke’s Unorthodox Gatherings) is a group dedicated to making sure our parish has FUN. They sponsor several events each year, including an annual Mardi Gras party the weekend before Lent (which often includes wine and beer tasting), and two themed Sundays: Aloha Sunday, where we dress in island apparel and enjoy a Hawaiian themed coffee hour, and St. Andrew’s Sunday, where we wear tartan and enjoy Scottish shortbread and dancing by the Gordon Highlanders.

Other parties are scattered through the year, and include delicious food (often courtesy of our parish chef Joe Lauer), and participatory entertainment like Karaoke and “the Werewolf game”. The SLUGs also provide a wonderful brunch after church for both our Annual Meeting and Easter Sunday services.
